Vitamin D, osteoporosis, and sarcopenia

Projects:

  • Critical analysis of vitamin D levels in pregnant women attending a primary care facility in the metropolitan region of Curitiba and their correlation with gestational and fetal development parameters;
  • Analysis of bone structure, genetic, and hormonal characteristics to define normal ranges for vitamin D status in a population of adult women of different age groups;
  • Vitamin D receptor and vitamin D-binding protein (DBP) polymorphisms in a population of women with primary hyperparathyroidism: correlations with bone structural characteristics and hormonal parameters;
  • Definition of normal ranges for lean mass and diagnosis of sarcopenia in women.
